When you can’t sell product (houses) then you have to sell the invisible - relationships. This means communicating with clarity and confidence and making sure your sphere of influence knows you’re there for them. This is a great time to clean up your database, and even expand it by looking for connections to connections. Leads may come and go but relationships are forever.

Your SOI wants to know you’re present, not just get presents (free stuff). Review your communications strategy to ensure your content is helpful and time well spent. Are you spreading optimism? Don’t go on auto-pilot with generic real estate speak; update your custom messages to reflect the times, then show gentle connections to the issues related to housing with solutions and information that will show your SOI you’re looking out for them, you care, and you’re keeping them informed so that when things get back on track, they can continue pursuing their dream.

April 28th  |  FROM PANIC TO POWER

Using a routine to keep steady in unsteady times can calm your panic and permit you to take your usual “calculated” risks. Working your task list, adding “one thing to learn each day” and remembering that it’s ok to call your SOI because “there’s no need to be nervous when you’re being of service” (Staver). Utilize the resources at your fingertips - Who can you call right now for support? Who can you partner with in your office? What books and materials had good ideas that you bookmarked that you can now revisit? By building a plan to motivate, learn, contact and try something new regularly, you will realize how much power you still have in these challenging times and how ready you are to get through it and return to the next-normal growth mode.
